583,656. Capes or overalls. RAVEN, C. W. Nov. 14, 1944, Nos. 22431/44 and 3511/45. [Class 141] A cape for a tractor driver consists of a sheet adapted to be secured to the front and sides of the tractor and to cover the driver except for his head. As shown, the cape or protection sheet 15 is provided with a neck opening fitted with a sliding clasp fastener 19 and having a collar 17. The front edge of the sheet is secured by cords 27 to the tank filling cap 28 and by a strap 36 adapted to pass round the petrol tank 13. On each side of the front edge an extension such as 25 is secured to a mudguard bracket 35 by a cord 34. The side edges of the sheet have spring clips 37 which engage the edges of the mudguards 14 and the back of the sheet hangs loose. A semi-circular member 38, having a strut 39 which is clamped to the steering column, prevents the cape fouling the steering wheel. When the cape is not in use, it can be rolled up and attached to the member 38 by cords 23.
