Abstract
582,702. Gas-actuated switches. REYROLLE & CO., Ltd., A., ALLAN, A., and SHANNON, R. Nov. 22, 1944, No. 23214. [Class 38 (v)] [Also in Groups XXVIII and XXIX] The gas supply to the reservoir B of a switchgear unit A is dried by expansion through a spring-loaded reducing valve F, a control valve- H being provided to cut off delivery to the valve F at a predetermined minimum pressure. The control valve H is similar to the lock-out valve disclosed in Specification 582,701 but may be arranged for automatic reopening when the supply pressure exceeds a predetermined value (see Group XXIX). The valve may carry contacts to complete an indicator circuit or it may give visual indication of its position. The units A may be supplied from a main reservoir C' through a bus-pipe D and branch pipes D' including isolating, non-return and lock-out valves S, Q' and Q or P respectively, as disclosed in Specification 582,701. The gas used may be air, hydrogen, argon, nitrogen, or dichlorodifluoromethane.
