Abstract

582,667. Curtain pleating tape. FRENCH & SONS, Ltd., T., FRENCH, G. F., FRENCH, R., and BROWN, B. J. May 6, 1944, No. 8609. [Class 52 (v)] A wire tape b attached to the curtain a along its whole length has a narrower tape c attached at c<1>, c<2> to its front face so as to form hook tubes d between which relatively long portions c' of the narrower tape are left free and have the drawcords e threaded through them so that when pleated the intervening parts c' of the narrower tape extend across the curtain folds f as shown in Fig. 4. Two narrow tapes must be sewn to the back tape and long hooks used. passing through both, and two hook tubes may be arranged side by side. The hook tubes may be wedge shaped to engage a tapered hook as described in Specification 575,357. For forming box pleats the back tape may embody small hook tubes g, Fig. 12, by which the curtain may be suspended by further hooks. The suspension hooks or the runners may be linked together by fine chains, cords or tapes to ensure uniformity of the pleats.
