575,357. Suspending curtains. FRENCH & SONS, Ltd., T., FRENCH, G. F., FRENCH, R., and BROWN, B. J. March 11, 1944, No. 4574. [Class 52 (v)] ' The hook tubes b of a curtain heading tape a are taped or stepped. Suspension hooks are made of a similar shape so as to prevent crumpling of the hook tubes under the weight of the curtain. As shown in Fig. 2c the tubes may be formed by sewing a narrower tape to the main tape a by pairs of converging rows of stitches. A central row of stitches may divide the tube into two halves. In modifications the tubes may be partly tapered and partly parallel sided, hour glass shaped or with alternate tubes tapered in one direction and intermediate tubes in the opposite direction so that the tape may be used either way up, or alternate tubes may be in a separate row from the intermediate tubes to allow the height of the curtain to be adjusted.
