582,260. Heating aircraft instruments. UNITED AIRCRAFT CORPORATION. July 7, 1944, No. 13022. Convention date, Jan. 29. [Class 64 (ii)] [Also in Group.XXIX] A thermostatic valve 20, comprising a bimetallic element 22 actuating a balanced piston valve member 21, is provided for regulating the flow of oil from two different discharge points 11, 12 at different temperatures from an aircraft engine 10 and supplying it at constant temperature to an instrument 24 such as an electric torque meter or strain gauge The two conduits 11, 12 discharge into tanks 13 from where the oil is pumped by pumps 17 to valve 20 under control of pressure relief valves 14 from where it passes to a conduit 23 and is circulated through or around the instrument casing 24.
