Abstract

581,834. Staircases. ROBINS, C. H., and HEWITT, R. G. April 4, 1945, No. 8345. [Class 20 (iv)] A staircase comprises stairs formed by bending or preforming pieces of plywood to an angular section, the rounded bend c forming the nosing of the stair. In the form shown the rear edge of each tread b is fitted into a groove d in the riser a of the stair next above. The adjoining stringer e has grooves in which are engaged the risers and treads. The staircase may comprise a plurality of stairs bent from a continuous piece of plywood. In the case of narrow treads apertures f may be provided in the risers to accommodate the toe of the foot. The treads and risers may be at an obtuse angle with one another.
