Abstract
16,663. Beevers, T., and Safety Tread Syndicate. July 29. Stairs and staircases, treads for stairs.-Staircases are formed of metal brackets B, Fig. 1, having flanges C on the top and front to receive the treads and risers, and formed with dovetailed dowels for securing them to the walls or stringers. The treads, Fig. 5, of the kind described in Specification No. 5988, A.D. 1891, are formed with deep U-shaped grooves c meeting similar transverse grooves at the ends, and dovetailed grooves b containing lead or the like. The grooves. c are deeper than the grooves b, so that the latter are always separated until worn away.
