Abstract

579,537. Fencing. JANES, A. R., and GREEN, H. E. May 23, 1944, No. 9897. [Class 45] A fence is built up from panels which comprise an assemblage of parallel strips a, Figs. 3, 4, of wood of square section closely juxtaposed corner to corner, two or more wires b being passed through holes formed diagonally of each strip and spaced apart in the length thereof, the ends of the wires being bent to provide attachment formations such as eyes bl. The strips a, are covered by a capping rail c, Fig. 3, and are supported along their bases above ground level by a grooved bottom rail f of reinforced concrete. The eyes b<1> of each wire at the ends of each panel are secured by screws to wooden posts e, Fig. 5, which are bolted at m to reinforced concrete support posts k. Flat concrete anchor plates of dovetail shape support the posts e on projections j<3> which also serve as abutments for the concrete rails f. The concrete supports k and the rails fare bolted to the anchor plates j at l, n.. At a corner post two anchor plates of half dovetail shape are used and are positioned at right angles. The concrete rails f are recessed at f<1>, Fig. 3, and apertured at f<2> for drainage.
