Abstract
579,403. Hydraulic transmission. DENISOFF,'A. C. March 28, 1944, No. 5704. [Class 69 (ii)] A hydraulic motion transmitting device applicable, e.g. to indicators of liquid-level gauges, weighing-machines or stress meters comprises a single pipe-line 10 for the working liquid, connecting transmitting and receiving metallic bellows devices 12, each formed with a fixed end releasably secured to the receiver or transmitter, and may comprise a temperature compensating means comprising a second pipe-line connecting chambers 29 of fixed volume in the bellows, this second line leading into and from a bellows 45, Fig. 4, the'movable head of which is integral with the head of a second bellows 44, either sealed or open to atmosphere, which forms the inner lining of a space within a cylinder 41 through which the working liquid passes to and from the pipe 10 ; the volume of this space is increased on rise of temperature causing expansion of bellows 45 and therefore contraction of bellows 44. The transmission line may be in sections each fully compensated and having bellows at the ends coupled, e.g. by spring plugs and sockets. The movable heads of the end bellows are connected to the transmitting and receiving 'elements, , e.g. float17 and indicator 34, the fixed heads being removably attached, e.g. by screw ; caps t 28. The transmitter may comprise a shockabsorber connecting the plug member 73. Fig. 2, and actuating arm 64, sleeve members 75, 76 loose on the arm form abutments for springs which at their other ends abut respectively on a flanged sleeve secured to the plug member 73 and on the arm 64.
