Abstract
578,990. Delay action bombs. CLARKSON, G. T. July 30, 1937, No. 21146. [Class 9(i)] A time bomb is detonated if disturbed, during the delay interval after dropping or placing, by providing a balance wheel a with a member m which engages either of the electric contacts k to close the firing circuit through the detonator n when the wheel oscillates against the action of a spring c due to the disturbance., A delay switch o of known type prevents current flowing in the firing circuit until all movements of the bomb and oscillations of the balance wheel due to dropping or placing the bomb have ceased. Two or three balance wheels in planes at right angles to one another may be provided.
