578,427. Load-handling devices. TAYLOR & SONS (MANCHESTER); Ltd., F., and TAYLOR, W. June 7, 1944, No. 10903. [Class 78 (iii)] In a load-handling device mounted on a self-propelled vehicle one end of the lifting arm A is pivoted on a bracket B carried by the chassis C and an intermediate portion of the arm is pivoted to a telescopic ram E operating by a hydraulic cylinder E<1> pivoted to a bracket e secured between the front and rear wheels but near the rear wheel. The lifting arm may be pivoted on a nut d which can be adjusted on a rod D by a handle d<1> and the hook F may be adjusted along the end of the arm A by a handle f 2.
