[Class 135] In a rotatable plug valve in which leakage past the spindle 12 is prevented by a flexible sleeve 17 of rubber or like material, one end 18 of the sleeve is clamped to the casing by a nut 20, but the other end 21 holds on to the spindle by its own elasticity so that under certain - conditions, such as low temperatures in which the rubber loses its flexibility, it can slip.
