Abstract
577,623. Asbestos yarns. AMERICAN VISCOSE CORPORATION. May 9, 1944, No. 8761. Convention date, May 29, 1943. [Class 120 (iii)] A yarn which may be used in making materials for electrical insulation, packing &c. comprises asbestos and a minor proportion of organic fibres, at least 9.25 per cent. of the organic fibres being viscose rayon staple fibres. The viscose fibres, which may be crimped, are preferably of a size between ¢ to 2 deniers and of a length between 1 and 3 inches. The balance of organic fibres is preferably cotton and the total proportions of organic fibres between 10 and 25 per cent. The asbestos grade is preferably such that a predominant proportion thereof will pass through a screen of ¢-inch mesh.
