Abstract

575,861. Magazine gramophones. FALK, S. G. Oct. 28, 1943, No. 17847. [Class 40 (ii)] The records 8 in a magazine gramophone are stacked above the turntable on an offset shoulder 7 and slide down the guide pin 3 on to the turntable and are steadied in a position perpendicular or substantially so to the guide pin by a single member 11, 12 in the form of an angle rod engaging the upper surface of the stack from one edge to the centre thereof. Portion 11 of the steadying member is inserted in a sleeve 10 and is engaged by a downwardly acting spring 15 or a weight so that portion 12 and a ring 13 formed on the end thereof is urged downwardly and in a direction parallel to the pin 3 on to the records 8. To insert records, member 11, 12 is lifted for example by finger piece 14 till portion 12 moves out of slot 16 in sleeve 10 so that member 11, 12 can be rotated clear of the records. When the stack is exhausted, portion 11 of the steadying member is urged into engagement with a trip 17 to stop the machine. The record feeding and supporting engagement comprising the pin 3 and the lever 4 having a portion 6 by which the record stack is located is described in Specification 573,419.
