Abstract

574,587. Cranes. BRITISH LUKS, Ltd., and.MARTIN, W. S. Jan. 25, 1944, No. 1381 [Class 78 (iv)] The slewing ring of a crane comprises a disc 1 to which are welded a ring 2 for receiving a separate rack ring 7, a boss 3 for the pivot pin 3a, and webs 4 which are also welded to the ring 2 and the boss. The ring 7 is secured in the ring 2 by bolts 8 passing through the ring 2 into recesses in the ring 7. The slewing gear is accommodated in the cut-out portion 1b in the disc 1 provided with a stiffening web 13. The rack ring 7 is recessed at 7a so that a number may be fitted together and cut simultaneously. A reversing ramp 9 is welded to brackets 10 which are themselves welded to the webs 4.
