[Class 51 (ii)] An agitator for gas producers comprises a flat tubular member 14 supported at the centre to form two oppositely extending arms by a tube 20 operated as described in Specification 573,944, there being provided, along one edge of one arm and the opposite end of the other arm, downwardly inclined flanges 16 to which wear plates 18 are detachably secured by the engagement of bolts 17 in keyhole slots. Bolts 19 prevent endwise movement of the wear plates. The member 14 has reduced ends closed by removable caps 15 and is cooled by fluid supplied through a pipe 30 and branches 36.
