Abstract
572,556. Spraying-machines. PEST CONTROL, Ltd., REEVE, L. T., GLADSTONE, M. N., and RIPPER, W. E. Oct. 27, 1943, No. 17757. Addition to 557,068. [Classes 69 (iii)] An apparatus for spraying, e.g. sulphuric acid for combatting pests or for camouflaging, colourisation, or decontamination as in the parent Specification, has a horizontal spraying bar articulated on at least two inclined axes 5 to form two booms 4, projecting one on either side of a vehicle and with or without a central spraying portion 3, power or hand means being provided to rotate the booms about 5 to fold them into the sides, the inclination of the axes 5 bringing the ends of the booms substantially above the level of the tops of the axes. The looms may have castor wheels near their outer ends. The power-operated means may be by pneumatic or hydraulic jacks and each boom may be operated independently. The hand wheels 8 serve to raise or lower a supporting tube 9 connected to the sleeves 10 of the pivots 5 so that each pivot can be raised or lowered independently. The wheels 2 of the vehicle may be replaced by endless tracks. Specifications 544,686, [Group I], and 545,968, [Group XXXII], are referred to.
