Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a self-propelling machine, capable of passing any obstacle on a stringing or the shoulder of a steel tower without any trouble, by a method wherein movable arms are provided at the front part and the rear part of a framework to support a self-propelling rotary body on the tip end thereof while a multi-wheel running means is provided on both sides of the movable arms. CONSTITUTION:A storage battery 29 and a controller 30 are attached to the lower both sides of a framwork 21 while movable arms 23, 25, whose tip ends are capable of being moved upward, are attached to the front part and the rear part of the framework. Running rotary bodies 22, 24, rotated and driven by a driving source respectively, are supported at the tip ends of the movable arms 23, 25 through bearings. Further, the framework 21 is provided with multi- wheel running means (caterpillars) 26, 27 at both sides thereof. When a self-propelling machine is run on a stringing 3 and has arrived at the part of a steel tower, the movable arms 23, 25 are moved upward and may be passed while running on the shoulders of the steel tower by the multi-wheel running means 26, 27.
