Abstract

The log splitting tool incorporates a cone with a screw-thread (1), running in bearings in a frame (2) suitable for attachment to a tractor three-point linkage. On the other side of the frame from the cone is a coaxial wedge-shaped stub-shaft (7), which can be coupled by means of a flexible propeller shaft to the tractor power take-off. The frame can comprise a vertical plate, the cone axis (3) being at right angles to it, while there are one or more stops (12) extending beyond the cone tip for the log (14). There can also be two spring tongues (13) on opposite sides of the cone and gripping the log between them.
