Abstract
572,356. Electric collectors. WESTING- HOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO., Ltd., and WALKER, A. H. B. June 27, 1944, No. 12172. [class 104 (iii)] An-inductive collector for track signalling comprises a vertical magnetisable bar 1 carried in front of the leading axle midway between the track rails. The bar consists of a coil 2 with surface laminations 3 of sheet iron or alloy steel, magnetically continuous with the vehicle frame 4 and having a flared or coned end to collect the magnetic flux. The coil 6 is connected to the cab signal and is mounted on the upper end of the bar 1 to protect it from injury.
