Abstract
572,158. Dental chair and spittoon. BELL, T. R. Oct. 16, 1943, No. 17045. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iii)] A dental chair 1 is coupled to a spittoon 2 resting on the floor so that the spittoon is moved around with the chair, but does not partake of vertical or tilting movement of the chair. The spittoon may have casters or equivalent antifriction supports. The coupling comprises rods 16 and 19 and a slide 12 movable in a channel guide 11 on the chair. A split pin 20 loosely couples the rods 16 and 19, and 16 is coupled to a slide 12 by a cross pin 15 joining the rod 16 to a fork 13 rotatably mounted on the slide by a horizontal pin. In a modification the coupling link is adjustable in length to vary the distance of the spittoon from the chair.
