Abstract

571,874. Umbrellas. CO-OPERATIVE WHOLESALE SOCIETY, Ltd., and JONES, N. C. Jan. 10, 1944, No. 408. [Class 134] The ribs or stretchers 1 have laterally extending pins 3 on the flat ends 2 which engage in an open groove 6 in the notch or runner 4. The grooves are closed by spring clips which are shown as in the form of a cap 8 with a slotted peripheral flange 12, provided with a protuberance 12a to snap into the groove 6, and, if desired, also a lip 13, Fig. 3, to snap under the lower edge of the notch or runner. The individual ribs or stretchers are assembled or removed by snapping the pins 3 under the parts of the cap flange 12.
