Abstract

571,048. Roller skates. COOK, P. L. Sept. 21, 1943, No. 528. [Class 132 (i)] [Also in Group XXXIV] A skate having a number of rollers or wheels rotatably mounted in a 'frame adapted to be attached to a boot is characterized in that the wheels or rollers are mounted in the frame by balls or rollers engaging with conical surfaces. The frame 1 is of channel section and the rollers 6 each have two ball races 11 engaging cones 13, one of which is adjustable on a screwed spindle 10, attachable to the frame. Alternatively, the roller 6 has conical bosses 19 engaging tapered thrust rollers 18 in conical recesses 17. An additional roller 7 may be provided at the front of the skate for strapping and spinning. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 13884/07, [Class 12], 29134/10, [Class 132 (i)], and 1849/11, [Class 12 (i)].
