Abstract

571,021. Making railway permanent way. CARGO FLEET IRON CO., Ltd., and WILLIAMS, I. June 8, 1943, No. 9215. [Class 83 (ii)] [Also in Group XXX] Chairs are produced solely by welding two or more rolled sections to a rolled base-plate or sleeper. The blanks are rolled to correct profile and the sections produced solely by cutting the blanks to correct size. The sections A, B, Figs. 1, 3, have bevelled faces A<2>, B<2>, for the weld E which connects them to a baseplate C together with lateral welds E<1>, E<2>. The plate C is then secured by bolts F to the sleeper D, insulation G being provided if required. The sections A, B may be welded directly to the sleeper D, the rail seating B<1> being then wider than the section A.
