570,691. Projection screens. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and BOWEN, A. Oct. 5, 1943, No. 16302. [Class 97 (i)] A projection screen for front projection comprises a transparent member having cylindrical lenticulations on the front face at right angles to lenticulations on the rear face and a plane reflecting surface situated behind the transparent member, the focal lengths of the lenticulations, the thickness of the transparent material and the spacing of the reflecting surface from the transparent screen being so related as to give the desired limits of restriction to the reflected light in two planes at right angles to one another. The transparent screen may be formed of one rolled transparent plastic sheet or may be of two sheets having lenticulations on one face only and assembled with their plane faces in contact. Large projection screens may be built up from small sections which may have small projections on their edges to allow sound waves to pass between the sections.
