[Class 34 (ii)] Laundry drying plant comprises apair of coaxial chain wheels 2, 3 at each end of a drying chamber 1, the axes of the wheels being vertical, and two clip-carrying chains 5, 6 running between the pairs of chain wheels in spaced vertical planes in their forward and return laps, with clothes suspended between them in each lap. The chains pass around wheels 9 which cause them to move in different vertical planes, and between the wheels 9 they may be supported and guided by horizontal rails 25 on which run wheels 5a, 6a to be attached to the chains. Hot air is blown through through nozzles 10 from an air conduit 11 supplied by a fan 13, into the clothes hanging in loops between clips 4, 4a on the two chains. The chain wheels 2, 3 are of the same diameter, and to hold the parts of the clothes hanging from the upper chain away from the lower chain when the clothes are passing around the chain wheels a ring of larger diameter than the wheels is mounted between each pair. In the form shown the drying chamber is open at one end only for the clothes to be attached and detached, and the clothes traverse the drying chamber twice. In another form the drying chamber is open at both ends for attachment and detachment of clothes, which are detached after passing through one lap. Instead of both chains being deflected outwardly after passing around the chain wheels, one may be deflected outwardly and the other inwardly to provide the necessary separation.
