Abstract
569,599. Gauges. ALLEN, H. H. June 28, 1943, No. 10403. [Class 106 (ii)] A support for clock-gauges for use in measuring depths of form tools comprises a base-part provided with means for attachment either to one limb of an L-section bracket, the other limb of which is adapted to be clamped in a vice or the like, or, alternatively, to a member incorporating a base holding part and a stem arranged for angular adjustment on a column support. In Figs. 1 and 2, an L-shaped bracket 7 is clamped in a vice and is secured to a support 1 in which is slidable a bar 4, carrying a column 9. A stem 10 is adjustable vertically by a screw- and-nut device 18 and supports a dial gauge 15 having a slidable feeler 16 which may comprise a thin blade. By sliding the bar 4 along the support, the contour of a workpiece may be measured. Alternatively, Fig. 4, the support 1 may be angularly adjustable about a bar 25 projecting from a clamp 30 adjustable vertically on a stand.
