Abstract

568,460. Bolting. MOSS, H. Oct. 15, 1943, No. 16918. [Class 89 (i)] In fixing machines by bolting, and particularly electric motors on to machine tools, cranes, &c. the bolt holes are made adjustable to suit various bolt spacings by means of conical slotted washers. The invention is applicable also to fixing plummer blocks, brackets, hangers, shaft couplings, constructional steel work and pipe flanges &c. The holes in the motor base &c. are enlarged, if necessary, and finished to taper or stepped form and fitted with rotatable washers 1 slotted at 2 for the bolts. The metal at the end of the slot, may be thin enough to permit a slight amount of elastic yield.
