Abstract

566,606. Feeding sheets. BACK. HOUSE, H. T. July 1. 1943, No. 10722. [Class 100 (i)] In a sheet-feeding apparatus of the kind in which sheets are advanced from a pile 6 over a layboard 5 by tapes 7 passing over rollers 9, 8, the sheets being fed to the tapes by rollers 11 co-operating with sleeves 10 on the roller 9 of a thickness equal to that of the tapes 7, the sleeves 10 are formed of several convolutions of a helical spring wound tightly on the roller and adjustable axially along it. The springs are preferably of rectangular cross-section so wound that adjacent convolutions are in contact, and the end sections are preferably tapered as shown in Fig. 3. Adjustably mounted rollers 14 co-operate with the forward ends of the tapes.
