Abstract
565,863. Filing papers. PERSSON, V., and SPEA SVENSKA PATENT EXPLOATERINGS AKTIEBOLAGET. Jan. 14, 1943, No. 721. [Class 146 (i)] [Also in Group XXV] In a one-piece elastic fastener for paper or other sheets of the kind having a stem with heads of concavo-convex form, concave faces inwards, one (or both) of the heads is provided with a tab or projection by which it may be pulled through registering holes in the sheets. Fig. 2 shows a form in which stem 4 and projection 3 are of rectangular section and the heads 1, 2 of flat form, this construction being conveniently formed by cutting from an extruded strip of appropriate crosssection. In a modification, the stem and tab are cylindrical and the heads circular. Fig. 4 shows the fastener in use to secure sheets 5 together, tab 3 and head 1 being pulled through the perforations and then released. The tab 3 may be inclined to one side and in one such form the tab is also eccentrically placed on the head. The Specification also shows a form having heads of equal size, both having tabs 3, and another form having two pairs of heads on a single stem for securing two bundles of sheets together. The use of the fasteners with cardboard covers to form a file which will lie flat when opened is also described.
