Abstract
564,212. Pit-props. SYLVESTER, W. March 10, 1943, No. 3864. [Class 20 (ii)] Pit-props are provided with permanently attached linking and gripping or receiving means so that an out - of - use prop may be secured temporarily to an in-use prop to prevent its being buried and lost. Each prop is provided with a chain 6 having a hook and jaws 4, 5 adapted to engage the hook or chain, so that a prop not in use may have its jaws engage the hook or chain of a prop in use and be maintained in a substantially vertical resting position. The chain may be slidably carried by a cross bolt 8, Fig. 4, and may be hooked to the similar cross bolt of a prop in use. Specifications 391,915, 514,185 and 525,845 are referred to.
