Abstract

563,657. Mining machines. MOORE; M. S., and MINING ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. Jan. 28, 1943, No. 1487. [Class 68 (i)] A mining machine includes a shearing jib including a main reversible portion, and an asymmetrical portion including the cutting face and invertible relatively to said main portion. As shown, the main jib portion 2, with chaindriving sprocket 5, is reversible about a universal or other pivot 3 on the end of a, loader conveyer 1 ; a wedge-shaped portion 6 is pivoted at 7 on said main portion, whereby it may be inverted to give the same inclination to the cutting face when cutting in the opposite direction. The portion 6 is held in adjusted position by bolts 8.
