Abstract

562,969. Cardboard &c. boxes. ROBINSON, Ltd., E. S. & A., BEALE, W. H., and GROVES, J. H. April 8, 1943, No. 5630. [Class 18] A collapsable cardboard, pasteboard, &c. box is made from the blank shown in Fig. 1, the bottom- and end-forming panels 10, 15 being medially creased at 27 so that when end panels 17 are disengaged from end panels 18 by withdrawing tongues 23 from slots 21 and tongues 26 from slots 22, the box may be folded about crease line 27, a central handle-bearing partition 28, Fig. 2, secured to sides 11, 12 being also medially creased at 30 so that it also may fold. The partition may project through slots 38, 39, 40 in the ends. A strip 32 provides an edgestrengthening fold and the lid is secured by tongues 36 entering slots 37. A slightly modified form of end panel securing is also described. In a further form, panels 17, 18 are permanently secured together and the box is collapsed without disjointing. Ventilation holes may be provided.
