Abstract
562,286. Exchange systems. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. (International Standard Electric Corporation). Jan. 22, 1943, No. 1117. [Class 40 (iv)] A two-way junction over which calling and supervisory signals are sent by means of sub-audio frequency currents terminates in a circuit which includes a line filter 1 for stopping the sub-audio frequencies, relays 6, 10 for responding to the signals from the junction and from an operator's position and a common polarized relay 7 for disabling either of the relays 6, 10 when the other is operative. As shown, 50 cycle current from the line passes through a tuned circuit 4 and rectifier bridge 5 to relay 6 in series with one winding of relay 7. Relay 6 controls a supervisory relay while relay 7 connects up relay 12 which disables relay 10 and terminates the filter 1 in a resistance 17. Similarly, 25 cycle current from the operator's position passes through a tuned circuit 8 and rectifier bridge 9 to relay 10 in series with the other winding of relay 7. Relay 10 repeats the signal over the junction at 50 cycles in a manner not shown, while relay 7 connects up relay 11 which disables relay 6 and terminates the filter 1 in a resistance 16.
