Abstract
562,196. Cooling radiators for motor vehicles. BELAIEFF, J. F., DELANEY, C. T., and GALLAY, Ltd. Jan. 16, 1942, No. 675. [Class 64 (iii)] In a radiator comprising parallel plates spaced by vertical corrugated strips 3 to form vertical water passages 2 for the water, and by horizontal strips to form intermediate horizontal passages for the air stream, horizontal corrugated strips 7, 8 between adjacent pairs of walls differ in thickness whereby the heat conductivity of each strip is proportional to the amount of heat conducted through the walls. The air passage between two adjacent vertical water passages 2 is divided by subsidiary walls 5, 6, which are separated by strips 8 of material thinner than the material of the strips 7, 8 between the subsidiary walls and the walls of the passages 2. The subsidiary walls may be thinner than the main walls and the gauge of the strips may decrease in the direction of flow of the air.
