Abstract

561,595. Scraping tools. CROXFORD, J. T. Dec. 4, 1942, No. 17299. [Class 39 (iii)] A scraping tool applicable for removing chewing gum from carpets, floors and seats, comprises a hollow handle consisting of a wooden part 2 connected to a metal sleeve 1 by a metal sleeve 3. A resistance heating wire 10 is embedded in, or wound on, an insulating tube 9 and connected to terminals 11, 12 in the handle. A copper rod 14 carrying a scraper 13 is secured by a screw 16 in the tube 9. The scraper may be flat or curved, and its edge may be straight or toothed.
