Abstract
560,776. Flash lamps. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd., and BOER, J. H. DE. July 15, 1942, No. 6305/41. [Class 9 (ii)] A photographic flash lamp comprising an envelope, a filling material of combustible foil, wire; or powder, a gas capable of reacting with the combustible material and means for initiating the combustion, has the envelope formed of at least two layers of transparent or translucent organic material, one of the layers consisting of regenerated cellulose. The envelope may be provided with ribs to increase its resistance to deformation and the gas, which is at a greater pressure than one atmosphere, may be diluted with a non-combustible gas. The organic material for the envelope may be cellulose acetate, polyvinyl chloride, urea formaldehyde resin, polyacrylic acid or ethers, or polyvinyl ether. Specification 547,031 is referred to.
