Abstract
560,773. Colour television. HAZELTINE CORPORATION. March 17, 1942, No. 5579/43. Convention date, April 23, 1941. Divided out of 560,749. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (iii)] A colour television transmitter or receiver comprises a cathode-ray tube including a target, means for successively scanning said target with an electron beam in a series of parallel lines, colour-filter carrying means interposed in the optical path between said target and the scene to be transmitted or a viewing screen at the receiver, and means for moving said colour-filter carrying means so that the lines of colour demarcation thereof remain substantially parallel to said lines of said series for changing the colour of light associated with each line a predetermined interval after such line is scanned and for maintaining said colour associated with said line until each line is next scanned by said beam. Three colours are used with frames of two fields as described in Specification 546,987. The invention is embodied in the same complete apparatus described in Specification 560,749.
