560,643. Hydraulic accumulators. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Oct. 7, 1942, No. 14095. Convention date, Dec. 12, 1941. [Class 69 (ii)] [Also in Group XXII] An hydraulic accumulator comprises a shell 10 with oppositely disposed gas inlet and liquid. outlet openings 28, 12 and containing a flexible bladder 18 which is secured directly to the shell 10 in the region of the opening 28 and which is pre-formed to the shape of the interior of that half of the shell adjacent said opening. The shell may be spherical and the bladder preformed to the free shape shown in Fig. 5 with thinner wall sections 19. The bladder carries inner and outer rigid discs 25, 22 which, respectively, cover the gas inlet 28 when the bladder is collapsed, and the liquid outlet 12 when the bladder is extended. The shell may be formed from one or more pieces of steel. As shown in Fig. 13 sheet material is punch drawn into a deep cup 90 which is placed in a two-part die 92, filled with rubber or an incompressible liquid,-and a die member 93 is forced into it.
