560,216. Seed-sowers. MURTON, R. J., and CHURCHYARD, F. Oct. 20, 1942, No. 14686. [Class 6 (i)] Delivery of seed from a hopper 3 to a furrow made by a coulter 19 is controlled by a slide valve 7 having an opening which is brought into register with the hopper base by connection to a lever 10, pivoted on the frame and rocked by engagement of its free end with pins 13 on the land-wheel 2. The link 16 extending from the valve plate carries an anti-friction roller 17 resting in the fork of the arm 14 and fixed by units 18. A seed-prodding rod 24 hanging from a rocker-arm 19<1> is connected by a rod 22 to the lever 10. For transport purposes the wheel 2 may be slid axially against the action of a spring and held by a pin depending from a slider 26 against the inside of the frame 1.
