Abstract
560,209. Electric cable systems. OKONITE-CALLENDAR CABLE CO., Inc. Oct. 1, 1942, No. 13803. Convention date, Sept. 19, 1941. [Class 36] The heat generated in a bare conductor loosely disposed within a fluid-filled insulating pipe line 2 is dissipated by the fluid filling. The pipe line 2, filled with oil or gas, has its ends connected by a pipe 6 and a cooler 10 is provided between the pipes 2, 6. The circulation may be by convection or by a pump 14 also connected between the pipes 2, 6. In a modification, a static head is provided by an elevated tank 16. The pipe line 2 may be formed of porcelain or glass.
