[Class 102 (i)] [Also in Groups XXVII, XXIV and XXVI] The axes of the pistons 12 and cylinders 11 of a pump are disposed radially from, and in a plane at right angles to, a Z-type crankshaft to which the pistons are connected by links 13 pivoted to central lugs 14 on a sleeve 15 journalled on the inclined portion 16 of the crankshaft, the arrangement giving two complete reciprocations of each piston for each revolution of the crankshaft. As shown, the cylinders are opposed to one another but they may be set at 90 degrees. Each cylinder may be replaced by a bank of cylinders.
