559,210. Safety razors. JACKSON, L. MELLERSH-. (Magazine Repeating Razor Co.). July 3, 1942, No. 9225. [Class 30] In safety razors with a magazine containing blades 10 which are fed one by one to a shaving head, the magazine comprises a casing 26 with a reciprocating plunger 29 and a spring 40 which presses the blades towards the plunger, the stack of blades being held by a clip 19, 20 which is retracted by the plunger whilst the spring engages a shoulder 14 on the bottom blade to retain the blade pack in the handle. The clip has lateral ears 22, 24 and a stop bar 23 to position the blades and has an aperture 25 engaged by a hook 33 on the plunger to retract the clip. The casing serving also as a handle, has a lining 36 retained by a spring lip 39 and provided with an indent engaged by a spring tongue 35 on the plunger to prevent complete withdrawal of the plunger. The lateral margins of the clip on the edge side of the blade may be deflected towards each other. Specification 549,093 is referred to.
