Abstract

558,083. Sodium chromate. UDY, M. J. June 12, 1942, No. 8086. [Class 1 (iii)] Sodium chromate is obtained by leaching a crude sodium chromate-bearing material with sodium hydroxide solution, and then evaporating the solution until sodium chromate crystallises. The leaching solution may contain 20-30 per cent. of sodium hydroxide and it may be evaporated to a content of 35-40 per cent. The leaching is preferably effected at 90-100‹C.
