556,272. Abrasive articles. CARBORUNDUM CO. Feb. 24, 1942, No. 2440. Convention date, March 1, 1941. [Class 70] In making abrasive articles such as grinding wheels in which rubber is used as the bonding medium, cohesion between the rubber and the abrasive is increased by admixture of boric oxide, boric acid, vanadium oxide, chromium sulphate, or the boroaluminate described in U.S.A. Specification 2,118,143. The substance may be added to the rubber mix or the abrasive may be coated with a mixture of the substance and an adhesive and the coated abrasive added to the rubber. As adhesives may be used synthetic resins, natural resins such as rosin, shellac or copal, or synthetic rubber-like products such as polymers of butadiene or chlorobutadiene, organic polysulphides, glue, rubber or modified rubber.
