Abstract
556,184. Current collectors for electric vehicles. BRITISH INSULATED CABLES, Ltd., LONDON PASSENGER TRANSPORT BOARD, BROOM, T. C., and POWELL, H. J. April 28, 1942, Nos. 5672 and 7346. [Class 104 (iii)] In a current collector of the kind comprising a collecting wheel or shoe 8 rotatable on a vertical axis 15 and having a socket 9 for the end of the pole 12, to projected axis 14 of the socket intersects the axis 15 at or very near the contact surface of the shoe and wire 17, so that the twisting effect on the trolley head of the lateral thrust of the wire on the shoe is eliminated.
