Abstract

555,287. Scooparm loaders : endless conveyers. DYKES, W. U. (Eimco Corporation). Dec. 31,1941, No. 16859. '[Classes 78 (iv), 78 (i), and 78 (iii)] [Also in Group XXI] A shovelling machine comprises a scoop 1 carried by rockers 2 rolling on rails 3 and attached by spring-pressed bolts 10, 11, to cables 5, 6, anchored by ball-sockets to lugs 8, 9, to an upper deck 7 which carries a pneumatic &c. motor 12 driving a drum 14 acting through chain 15 to rock the scoop between filling and discharge positions, a resilient stop 2a engaging the rockers at the latter position. The deck 7 is pivoted on a pin 22 carried by a wheeled &c. truck 29 provided with an accurate guide 20 supporting rollers 19 carried by the deck 7 which deck may be swung laterally, within limits determined by lugs 27, 28, by a pneumatic &c. motor 23 and worm gearing 25, 26. A pneumatic &c. motor 31 drives the truck 29. A square opening 32 is formed longitudinally of the truck body and receives a slidable tubular coupling member 36 with spaced apertures 38 adapted to receive a pin 34, controlled through linkage by the operator, to lock the coupling member in adjusted position; the coupling member 36 is made flexible at 37 and is adapted for connection at 57 to a truck 56. At the rear of the truck 29 is a raised arcuate platform 42 supporting the base 43 of a boom conveyer 44 movable by hand or power about the axis of the pivot 22, and comprising a hopper 47a a high side board 48, and an endless belt 50 supported on rollers 51 and driven by a pneumatic &c. motor 53.
