Abstract

555,090. Resilient mountings. WRIGHT, H., CLAYTON-. Jan. 28, 1942, No. 1180. [Class 108 (iii)] [Also in Groups XXVIII and XXXIV] A resilient tubular bushing comprises an inner tube 1, for example of metal, on which is placed and held a rubber tube 3, the combination thus formed being forced into an outer tube 2, for example also of metal, of less diameter, so that the rubber tube is stretched to a reduced diameter the tubes 1 and 2 being held in true concentricity during the process. The outer tube may be carried by a frame, and the inner tube guided by a concentric spindle. A rubber tube mounted on a single inner tube may be inserted into a number of outer tubes mounted in alignment the resulting bush being then parted off into lengths ; or a number of inner tubes and a single outer tube may be treated in the same way. The tubes may have an hexagonal or other bore instead of circular.
