Abstract

554,529. Moulding decorative or advertising panels. HOARE, R. R. Dec. 2, 1941, Nos. 4340/43, and 4342/43, Divided out of 555,305, [Group XVI]. [Class 87 (ii)] [Also in Group XVIII] A design is impressed in reverse under heat and pressure into a sheet of thermoplastic material such as " Perspex " (Registered Trade Mark), and this sheet is used as a mould from which are made panels of plaster of Paris, clay or like material which sets hard on drying. The design may be impressed by means of a die on which the design has been produced by a photo-mechanical method, e.g. by photoengraving. The pressure may be applied by an ordinary letter-press, and the heat by a blowlamp, overheating being prevented by spraying with water. The design may be coloured with enamel or paint as desired in the final product.
