[Class 43] [Also in Groups V and XV] A method of moulding buttons having localised coloration or motting in their surface comprises using a rubber matrix d, Fig. 5, with raised areas e, to transfer ink from a correspondingly shaped inking pad to the required areas of a mould part a, Fig. 1, before the moulding operation. Each mould part is provided with a corresponding matrix. The ink may be of a sim lar composition to that of the button, e.g., a resin in a suitable vaporisable solvent. The finished surface of the button may represent natural horn. The mottling may include the forming of any design or lettering and several colours may be superposed in successive printing operations on the mould parts.
